  • After Maharana Sanga’s death in 1527, his elder son Rana Ratan Singh ascended the throne.
  • Later, Vikramaditya Singh became the ruler, but he was not a strong king.
  • Banvir, an illegitimate son of Maharana Sanga’s brother, aimed to seize power and plotted to eliminate all rightful heirs to the throne.
  • In 1536, Banvir assassinated Vikramaditya Singh and then planned to kill the young Prince Uday Singh, the last legitimate heir of Mewar.

Panna Dhai’s Unmatched Sacrifice

  • Panna Dhai learned about Banvir’s plan and decided to save the prince at any cost.
  • She switched Uday Singh with her own son, placing her son in the prince’s bed.
  • That night, Banvir entered the room and brutally murdered the sleeping child, believing he had killed Uday Singh.
  • Meanwhile, Panna Dhai escaped with the real prince, hiding him in a basket, and fled Chittorgarh.
