 Somvar Vrat Katha (Monday Fast Story)

Once there was a very poor but devoted man who always worshipped Lord Shiva. He used to visit the Shiva temple every day and offered prayers with true faith.

One day, Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati decided to test his devotion. They came to his house in the form of ordinary travellers. The man welcomed them with love, even though he had very little food. He shared whatever he had and treated them with respect.

Pleased with his kindness, Lord Shiva blessed him and said:

“Your devotion is true. From today, all your problems will end.”

After that blessing, the man’s life changed. His poverty ended, his home became full of happiness, and he lived peacefully.

Lord Shiva then told him:

“Whoever keeps the Somvar fast with faith and listens to this story will receive my blessings, peace, and prosperity.”
