One day, a wealthy merchant came to the village. He was very proud of his riches and did not believe in God. He saw the Brahmin observing the Wednesday fast and worshipping with flowers, durva grass, and sweets. The merchant laughed and said, “You waste your time. There is no benefit in fasting or worship.”
The Brahmin calmly replied, “Faith in God always brings good results, even if we do not see them immediately.”
After some time, the merchant faced great losses in his business. His wealth started disappearing, and he became very poor. In his distress, he remembered the Brahmin’s words. He went to him and asked for help.
The Brahmin advised him to observe Budhwar Vrat with devotion and pray to Lord Ganesha sincerely, without ego or pride. The merchant followed the instructions faithfully.
Slowly, his fortune began to improve. His business recovered, and he became successful again. He realized the power of faith and devotion.
From that day onward, the merchant also started observing Budhwar Vrat every Wednesday and worshipping Lord Ganesha with full devotion.
