Story (Katha)

Once upon a time, there lived a poor but devoted Brahmin. He was very religious but struggled with poverty and misfortune. Despite his hardships, he never stopped praying to Lord Surya.

One day, an old woman noticed his suffering and advised him to observe the Ravivar Vrat (Sunday fast) with full devotion. She told him to wake up early on Sunday, take a bath, wear clean clothes, and worship Lord Surya by offering water (Arghya), red flowers, jaggery, and wheat-based sweets.

The Brahmin started following the vrat sincerely every Sunday. He would fast and pray to the Sun God with complete faith. Slowly, his life began to change. His health improved, and his financial condition also got better. He started gaining respect in society.

Pleased with his devotion, Lord Surya appeared in his dream and blessed him. The Sun God told him that anyone who observes this vrat with true faith and discipline will be free from sorrow, diseases, and poverty, and will receive happiness and prosperity.

From that day onward, the Brahmin lived a peaceful and prosperous life and continued observing the Ravivar Vrat regularly.
